Libre Office has lost the menu under XFCE on Leap 15.1 Beta, making it unusable.
I can get it back launching it this way:
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice
but the look and feel is horrible.
Are you talking about the menubar? I can see it just fine in both builds 463.2 and 464.1. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Yes, the menu bar on top.
I can post a photo.
I don't know how to find what build I'm using, I just do zypper dup, and the problem started since I first installed the beta.
sudo zypper info openSUSE-release I confirm that in my devices I do have the menu bar in Libreoffice and I just did a fresh install with the latest image to triple check. Is there any other config I should know about such as appmenu, global-menu? Perhaps make a back up and remove ~/.config/libreoffice in your home directory -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Elesar:~ # rpm -qi openSUSE-release Name : openSUSE-release Version : 15.1 Release : lp151.292.2 Architecture: x86_64 Install Date: Tue Apr 30 13:54:27 2019
Which is surely not the build number, as I did a zypper dup today, May 3.
I have not touched appmenu, global-menu. If they are programs, they are not installed.
Elesar:~ # appmenu If 'appmenu' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this: cnf appmenu Elesar:~ # global-menu If 'global-menu' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this: cnf global-menu Elesar:~ #
If they are files, please tell path and I'll verify against rpm database if they have changed.
They are panel plugins known to mess with menubars but not part of any default configuration.
This is a fresh install, made using openSUSE-Leap-15.1-DVD-x86_64-Build450.2-Media.iso, then zypper duped several times. I deleted ~/.config/libreoffice days ago and did no effect. I'll try now again. [...] No change.
I use XFCE only.
No difference if lo started from command line.
I can try on a new user.
Libreoffice does have an hidden option to toggle on/off the menubar. And I wonder if it's the cause. Try this: 1. rightclick on one of the buttons on the toolbar to get a context menu. 2. Select: Customize Toolbar and search "Menubar". 3. add the "Menubar" button to the toolbar. 4 use the button you just added to toggle menubar on and off screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/QIBUNl0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

"Appmenu Plugin" is there, but does not display anything. Removing. And now LibreOffice gets a menu! :-O
I must have added it, but I don't know why. I was probably looking for Applications Menu. As it doesn't display anything, I thought that it was not really added and tried another "menu", till I found the correct one (Applications Menu).
Gosh.
Thankyou!
You're welcome, and glad it's sorted out. As this is not a bug I will close the report.
Then maybe that plugin (Appmenu Plugin) is faulty? It doesn't display anything, nothing says it is there, except clicking there once I knew it was in that area, and can not be configured: the only options are move and delete.
The plugin is a bit of a hit and miss, does not always work with all applications. It provides a mac os like global menu and you need to give it enough space to display the menu (for example an empty panel). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
