https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=796485 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=796485#c0 Summary: kernel-desktop-3.7.1-17.1.x86_64 gives low brightness when using vgaswitcheroo Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fedev@gmx.net QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0 As mentioned on the subject, when using kernel-desktop-3.7.1-17.1.x86_64 (from tumbleweed), switching to the ATI card with vgaswitcheroo does the switch however the brightness level is minimum and can't be adjusted. The Intel card works as usual. This seems to affect only the ATI card. Reverting to kernel 3.6.10-3-desktop solves the issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.echo "DDIS" > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch 2.Restart GDM 3.See GDM restarting with an extremely low brightness Actual Results: The switch is done but the brightness level is extremely low. The screen is barely visible. Expected Results: The switch should be done without affecting the screen's brightness. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
