[Bug 772540] New: Nautilus mount ISO problems
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772540 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772540#c0 Summary: Nautilus mount ISO problems Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ru.vinzent@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1190.0 Safari/537.1 SUSE/22.0.1190.0 Here's some problems related to nautilus' "Mount archive" feature. These are probably upstream bugs (and should be reported separately), but I'm not sure about it, so I fill the issue here, if you don't mind. 1. When unmounting previously mounted ISO from nautilus, there is a notable delay when you can't say for sure whether something happening or you just didn't clicked the right place. It's natural to click the unmount button one more time. After that you'll get dialog with confusing error message: "DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "Unmount" with signature "sou" on interface "org.gtk.vfs.Mount" doesn't exist". 2. Some ISO files are displayed empty after mounting via nautilus. If mount from the command line all is ok, so the problem is not in the file. 3. Sometimes ";1" is added to the names of all files in the ISO image, like this:
ls auto.exe;1 AUTORUN.INF;1 setup.exe;1
Again, it's ok if mount from the command line. Reproducible: Sometimes -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Here's some problems related to nautilus' "Mount archive" feature.
This is a timing issue; on my system it takes ~ 2 -3 seconds to unmount the ISO, in which time I indeed can trigger this error. I'd recommend to report this in upstream bug tracker please.
2. Some ISO files are displayed empty after mounting via nautilus. If mount from the command line all is ok, so the problem is not in the file.
None of my test files showed this behavior. how do you mount them manually (mount -t loop? of gvfsd-archive?) Any more information you can provide about the files causing this issue? Is this reproducible? (an upstream bug, against gvfs, might get better traction to get this fixed though)
3. Sometimes ";1" is added to the names of all files in the ISO image, like this:
Pretty much the same as for Nr2: could no rperoduce it yet.. and upstream might help faster. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

OK.

Usually mount -o loop

That's the problem - I can't see anything specific about this files! Anyway, I think I'll better report 2 and 3 as a single bug to gnome devs. Though, could you please leave this "meta-bug" open so if someone else will discover this behaviour there were no need to create another report? Thank you for the advice and sorry for distraction. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
