[Bug 335672] New: octave rpm does not mark /usr/share/octave/site/m/startup /octaverc as a "config" file
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335672 Summary: octave rpm does not mark /usr/share/octave/site/m/startup/octaverc as a "config" file Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jpmg@eng.cam.ac.uk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other In the openSUSE rpm package "octave" the sole purpose of the file /usr/share/octave/site/m/startup/octaverc is to provide somewhere for local site configuration. It would make sense, and make maintenance much easier, if it were marked as a config file in the rpm. Not doing so guarantees that local configuration will be over-written on package update. [ Apologies for marking this as Basesystem; there doesn't seem to be another more suitable Component ] This is also a problem in releases prior to openSUSE 10.3; we have observed it in openSUSE 10.2 for instance. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
