--- Comment #21 from Takashi Iwai
Old kernel version: 4.0.5-4.g56152db-desktop New kernel version: 4.0.5-1-desktop
Moved to Factory repo for the kernel only.
Still broken, but different.
Now, instead of seeing black, I see a flashing cursor in the top left, on a black background, followed by a whole bunch of garbage, much of which is flashing.
It looks like it's in a low-res text mode. About 28 characters tall. A whole bunch of similar custom characters, different colours and some of them flashing.
If I hit ctrl-alt-F1, I get a different screen. Still characters, only this time just a few green ones on black. I can then ctrl-alt-F7 back to the other screen. Back and forth, I can flip between the two broken screens.
So yes, there's probably a second bug here, and it's not fixed!
Also I just noticed that my laptop is a T41. It says so right under the screen.
Then could you rather update the information on upstream bugzilla entry so that upstream devs can work on it? https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65141 Or fell free to create another bug report. Maybe bugzilla.freedesktop.org can catch more caution. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
