Menu entries that don't fit into one of the groups like 'Internet' or 'Multimedia' should show up in the 'Other' submenu. This menu is only shown in xfce4-panel's applications menu but not in xfdesktop's right-click menu. I see the "Others" (german version: Sonstiges) category in both ways. Maybe you use a problematic xfce- or gtk-theme or some special .desktop file is breaking the parser.
