http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=957245 Bug ID: 957245 Summary: software updater double error notifications Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Applications Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: s2@forceway.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 657789 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=657789&action=edit screenshot When I click a listed software update in the software update applet/tray thing, I usually get two error message notifications. Exactly the same. Then where the update description text would go it says "no description available". I will attach a screenshot. (sometimes it works fine and shows me a description) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Apper was installed, I just removed it. No change though.
Ok, that was just a thought.
(curious, how does the Software Updates app know that a repository is an 'update' repository?)
It doesn't. It just displays updated packages from all repositories by default. And it is just a frontend for PackageKit anyway. There's a configuration option for PackageKit's zypp backend about this though, see /etc/PackageKit/ZYpp.conf. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

PS: You might also see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358858 which actually is a bug in Plasma's notifier that happens on multi-monitor systems. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356653
This should be fixed in Frameworks 5.19.0, but IIUIC Plasma 5.6 (not released yet) will be needed as well.
Aha, I have a three monitor setup. Maybe the issue is there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
