http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=906684 Nicholas Steeves <nick.steeves@shaw.ca> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |CONFIRMED CC| |nick.steeves@shaw.ca Severity|Normal |Major --- Comment #1 from Nicholas Steeves <nick.steeves@shaw.ca> --- I confirmed this bug because my trace also began with: kernel BUG at ../fs/btrfs/extent_io.c:2875! This is on a fresh openSUSE 12.3 installed on a Thinkpad x220 in UEFI mode about a week ago. I ran into the bug today, as I was multi-tasking with ~2GB of used memory and ~6GB free. Amarok keep hanging when it tried to play a file I had copied to my hard drive from my user-data backup. I switched to a konsole, and decided to poke the offending file with: echo "" > file.flac The command hung, so I ran dmesg, and started a btrfs scrub. The scrub complete without any errors. I am going to run another one after I reboot, but don't expect it to find anything. The smartctl log is good, and I recently ran memtest86+ overnight, which was also 100% good. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I have an Intel 320 SSD. Finally, scrolling and keyboard input began to have about one second of lag around this event, and has continued ever since, so I really hope we're not losing debug info by me rebooting, but I need to get work done. http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=906684 --- Comment #2 from Roman Evstifeev <someuniquename@gmail.com> --- I can confirm this bug. I was running python script to check all my files fragmentation with FIEMAP ioctl. During that plasma-desktop hang. I killed it and restarted in other console session, but the new process hang to the "disk sleep" state few seconds after it started. I rebooted pc and noticed this in journalctl logs (the time matches, so this is likely the culprit of the plasma freeze): Dec 02 08:49:46 linux-cc13.site kernel: ------------[ cut here ]------------ Dec 02 08:49:46 linux-cc13.site kernel: kernel BUG at ../fs/btrfs/extent_io.c:2875! Long live ext4 and reiserfs. They never caused problems.
:) Reiser really wasn't my FS of choice in 2002. How time flies! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
