https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=266188 Summary: network device not found during manual install to Xserve G5 despite loading tg3 module Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: PowerPC-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: harbaugh@ncifcrf.gov QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I attempted to do a manual install via tftp. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=266188 ------- Comment #4 from harbaugh@ncifcrf.gov 2007-04-24 13:03 MST ------- I tried adding y2debug, but no luck. I tried to do the install in a gui mode with install=http://... set, but it fails and falls back into manual mode I also cannot seem to break into any sort of shell from manual mode. Is there a way to start a shell from manual mode before the installation is successfully started? Either he control keys don't provide access to a shell like they do for gui install modes, or else the installation has not yet reached the point where a shell is available. What source package is used to build 'inst64', the installer boot image? If I look at that I can probably find a way to generate more information to debug this Thanks, Toni -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
