Neither during installation nor after booting. It's independent of the Xorg synaptics driver, which attaches correctly to the according input event device, but the event device doesn't show any events at all. I have installed an i386 openSUSE 10.3 alpha4, despite the processor being 64 bit capable. kernel is 2.6.21-10-default.
