Sorry for that! There's three possible ways forward: (1) We just close this issue, leaving a somewhat suboptimal (but working) version in 13.1. (2) I submit the better fix from 1.42.1 (3) I submit a newer version of dd_rescue 1.46 or even 1.98 which have some additional bugfixes but also newer features (lzo plugin and in case of 1.98 crypt plugin).
