I haven't been informed about such a buggy package. WHat has been the issue in detail? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

While nvidia packages for tumbleweed would be nice, I'd be happy to compile my own. Where is nvidia-gfxG02-270.41.06-4.1.nosrc.rpm please? Not on nvidia's ftp server. Installing from the .run file is a PITA. Well running it is trivial, afterwards it's a waste of time working out where and how the driver installation has copiously messed up the system when all I want is a new nvidia.ko to copy into place. I know how to run build locally. But where is the nosrc.rpm file? It doesn't show up when searching the build service. But if they don't, you can build the rpms yourself with osc. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=702221 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=702221#c13 --- Comment #13 from Volker Kuhlmann <volker3204@paradise.net.nz> 2011-07-11 10:40:25 UTC --- Unfortunately I don't have a weekend for the very good osc tool right now, it doesn't want to spit out a local copy of some public files (or do anything at all) without whatever credentials, and nobody would like to give the one bit of relevant info I asked for (the .spec file to start with, since for obvious reasons the .nosrc.rpm is not available), so after rounds of unhelpful comments I'm giving up. For other punters in a similar position, it is possible to build an nvidia.ko for the running kernel by starting up the NVIDIA-xxxxxxx.run file with --no-x-check --no-distro-scripts -z -N -e --no-rpms and continuing until it tests the new module, copying the created .ko file to a safe place and then breaking the program when it wants to back up system files and install new ones. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
