http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1011202 Bug ID: 1011202 Summary: Network Manager keeps flooding the logs ... Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: dieter.jurzitza@t-online.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- My network seems to work flawlessly. However, I am sitting behind a proxy. When checking the logs I get every other time: Nov 21 08:46:52 PC-JURZITZA7 NetworkManager[1304]: <info> connectivity: check for uri 'http://conncheck.opensuse.org' failed with 'Could not connect: Socket I/O timed out' even though curl -I http://conncheck.opensuse.org works (apparently) as expected: fred@PC-JURZITZA7:/etc/NetworkManager> curl -I http://concheck.opensuse.org HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found Date: Mon, 21 Nov 2016 07:50:35 GMT Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 1226 Could it probably be that the software performing those checks does not honor the proxy settings appropriately? Thank you for looking into this, take care Dieter Jurzitza -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1011202 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1011202#c2 --- Comment #2 from Dieter Jurzitza <dieter.jurzitza@t-online.de> --- Sorry, you are totally right. It should say "conncheck" as listed in the excerpt from /var/log/NetworkManager. fred@PC-JURZITZA7:~> curl -I http://conncheck.opensuse.org HTTP/1.0 204 No Content Cache-Control: no-cache X-NetworkManager-Status: online Content-Type: text/plain Connection: Close By any means, curl - sitting behind the proxy - apparently does "the right thing". Take care Dieter Jurzitza -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
