[Bug 460812] New: i2o_block Kernel module missing in bootmedium / rescuedisk
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=460812 Summary: i2o_block Kernel module missing in bootmedium / rescuedisk Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: m.moehle@schleswig-holstein.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Community User Today I tried to install the new openSuSE 11.1 on of my older server hardware: Dual Xeon 2400 Prestonia in a Tyan Mainboard 4 GB Memory Adaptec 3020S RaidController The problem is, that the i2o_core module is the only one from the i2o part of the kernel on the boot DVD. All the other modules are missing (i2o_config,i2o_block ....). The i2o_module is loading during boot, but no harddiscs/raids are recognized at the Adaptec Controller. Workaround for me was: - unload the i2o_core module - load the dpt_i2o module - install openSuSE - in the running system before booting again put the i2o_core and the i2o_block modules in /etc/sysconfig/kernel - mkinitrd - remove the dpt_i2o module from same file - modify /boot/grub/menu.lst: /dev/sda... to /dev/i2o/hda... - modify /etc/fstab change /dev/sda.. to /dev/i2o/hda... - reboot System is working now... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
