http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1042042 Bug ID: 1042042 Summary: Could not log in after last update Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: 64bit OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: aegoreev@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello, I updated the system last night and left it running overnight. This morning when I came back I was not able to log in. I typed in the password, pressed Enter and nothing happened. I tried many times. Password is 100% correct. Hard reset helped but I don't like doing this. I went to Yast - System log but it was empty. Please let me know if you want me to provide any specific logs to track the issue down. Thanks for reading. Andrius -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you think it's a bug, please provide logs. In this case, ~/.xsession-errors-:0 would probably be helpful. Or try to log in to IceWM, run "plasmashell" in an xterm and post the output. And more information is necessary too, like what display manager are you using, what repos, what graphics card. Maybe try to run "zypper dup", that may help you already. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Does that mean it works again meanwhile? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It only happened once so far. I preset "Reset" and was able to log in after that. I did lost some work though so if the bug reoccurs I would consider a pretty major issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

You lost work because you couldn't login? Or do you rather mean the screen was locked and you couldn't unlock it? Anyway, I don't think it will possible to find out what went wrong, if it works now. Please reopen if it happens again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Would at least be a workaround to not lose work if it helps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
