[Bug 1070373] New: nut has (wrong) conflict with apcupsd
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1070373 Bug ID: 1070373 Summary: nut has (wrong) conflict with apcupsd Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: P.Suetterlin@royac.iac.es QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The nut package has a built-in conflict against apcupsd: rpm -q --conflicts nut apcupsd However, there are no file or 'provides' conflicts I can see. All I could find was an old one mentioning /etc/init.d/ups-monitor, which none of the two packages has anymore. The respective systemd services etc seem properly personalized. The conflict should get removed from the package metadata.... (filed against Leap 42.3, but also true for Tumbleweed) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1070373 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1070373#c2 --- Comment #2 from Peter Sütterlin <P.Suetterlin@royac.iac.es> --- Thanks for considering :) Some comment: It can be useful to run both, imagine a machine having it's own UPS, but also being master server for one (or more) other UPSes where several other machines get power from. Yes, I do have such a setup :) As you say yourself, there is no immediate collision from installing both, and no service is enabled by default. It really is for the user to properly configure things. Or should it be 'forbidden' to install both kodi and VDR because both of them (want to) use some DVB card? So I'd clearly vote for removing the conflict entry from the spec file.... As for the superset: Not really sure. E.g., nut does not support the 'calibrate battery' directive, and setting battery date is only supported by the serial driver, not the USB one. Having apctest around definitely is a wanna-have, at least for me... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Looking at the source code, /usr/lib/ups/driver/usbhid-ups and /usr/lib/ups/driver/apc* supports: APCBattCapBeforeStartup APCBattReplaceDate APCDelayBeforeReboot APCDelayBeforeShutdown APCDelayBeforeStartup APCEnvironment APCGeneralCollection APCLineFailCause APCPanelTest APCProbe1 APCProbe2 APCSensitivity APCShutdownAfterDelay APCStatusFlag APC_UPS_FirmwareRevision APC_USB_FirmwareRevision BUPBattCapBeforeStartup BUPDelayBeforeStartup BUPHibernate BUPSelfTest ambient.0.humidity ambient.0.humidity.high ambient.0.humidity.low ambient.0.temperature ambient.0.temperature.high ambient.0.temperature.low ambient.1.humidity.alarm.high ambient.1.humidity.alarm.low ambient.1.temperature.alarm.high ambient.1.temperature.alarm.low ambient.humidity ambient.humidity.high ambient.humidity.low ambient.temperature ambient.temperature.high ambient.temperature.low battery.alarm.threshold battery.charge battery.charge.low battery.charge.restart battery.charge.warning battery.current battery.current.total battery.date battery.mfr.date battery.packs battery.packs.bad battery.runtime battery.runtime.low battery.temperature battery.type battery.voltage battery.voltage.nominal beeper.disable beeper.enable beeper.mute beeper.off beeper.on bypass.start bypass.stop calibrate.start calibrate.stop device.uptime input.L1-L2.voltage input.L1-L2.voltage.maximum input.L1-L2.voltage.minimum input.L1.current input.L1.current.maximum input.L1.current.minimum input.L2-L3.voltage input.L2-L3.voltage.maximum input.L2-L3.voltage.minimum input.L2.current input.L2.current.maximum input.L2.current.minimum input.L3-L1.voltage input.L3-L1.voltage.maximum input.L3-L1.voltage.minimum input.L3.current input.L3.current.maximum input.L3.current.minimum input.frequency input.phases input.quality input.sensitivity input.transfer.high input.transfer.low input.transfer.reason input.voltage input.voltage.maximum input.voltage.minimum input.voltage.nominal load.off load.off.delay load.on load.on.delay output.L1-L2.voltage output.L1.current output.L1.current.maximum output.L1.current.minimum output.L1.power output.L1.power.maximum output.L1.power.maximum.percent output.L1.power.minimum output.L1.power.minimum.percent output.L1.power.percent output.L2-L3.voltage output.L2.current output.L2.current.maximum output.L2.current.minimum output.L2.power output.L2.power.maximum output.L2.power.maximum.percent output.L2.power.minimum output.L2.power.minimum.percent output.L2.power.percent output.L3-L1.voltage output.L3.current output.L3.current.maximum output.L3.current.minimum output.L3.power output.L3.power.maximum output.L3.power.maximum.percent output.L3.power.minimum output.L3.power.minimum.percent output.L3.power.percent output.current output.frequency output.phases output.voltage output.voltage.nominal reset.input.minmax shutdown.reboot shutdown.return shutdown.return.grace shutdown.stayoff shutdown.stop test.battery.start test.battery.start.deep test.battery.start.quick test.battery.stop test.failure.start test.panel.start test.panel.stop ups.beeper.status ups.contacts ups.delay.shutdown ups.delay.start ups.display.language ups.firmware ups.firmware.aux ups.firmware.old ups.id ups.load ups.mfr ups.mfr.date ups.model ups.realpower.nominal ups.serial ups.status ups.temperature ups.test.date ups.test.interval ups.test.panel ups.test.result ups.timer.reboot ups.timer.shutdown ups.timer.start -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
