I've uploaded the phpinfo dump. There were some sensitive information (why does it know that there was a SSH session in progress and both the remote and local addresses?), but they've been replaced by dummy values. I believe the list of packages and extensions installed can be obtained from the phpinfo. Not sure what's wrong though, open_basedir is supposed to restrict filesystem access to the paths specified. Solving the problem by removing /etc/phpMyAdmin from the list doesn't make sense! Except I guess, now the configuration stored in /etc/phpMyAdmin is not used. Maybe something about our setup is incompatible with this.
