[Bug 1092326] New: Plasma Wayland does not use the configured system keyboard layout and freezes when trying to set a keyboard layout
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1092326 Bug ID: 1092326 Summary: Plasma Wayland does not use the configured system keyboard layout and freezes when trying to set a keyboard layout Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: freek@opensuse.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- This bug report is related to bug #1091816 but behaves different in Leap 15.0. Also in this case during installation US keyboard with dead keys is configured. But there is no layout configured in systemsettings5. However starting konsole and pressing the accent key or another dead key gives a popup showing spectacle and asks to select something to make a screen copy. When trying to configure a keyboard layout in systemsettings5 the screen freezes. The mouse pointer does not move anymore. After a minute or so, I get the login screen again, but this may be caused by pressing <Ctrl><Alt>+<Backspace>+<Backspace>. I did not try to wait if without pressing these keys the login screen still appears. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

And there should *not* be one. Otherwise the system-wide keyboard layout would be explicitly overridden in any case on login and not be used at all, also not on X11. I.e. it would rather have the opposite effect. We already have the other bug report about your dead keys problem, so let's keep this one about the freeze. Probably also rather an upstream problem though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am closing this bug report, it is too old. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
