FYI: When a job disappears it usually means that for CUPS everything was "successful" because CUPS would only remove the job when it was "successful" - i.e. when CUPS did not notice an error. The fixed issue is where the service doesn't always come back up. I am not yet sure if the other issue is fixed or not, however, it does appear that just yesterday a print job got "lost". By "lost" I mean the person printed everything but the server was not available due to other reasons and yet the client did not report any errors and the print job went nowhere. Despite cups being enabled via systemd, systemctl reports it as "inactive (dead)".
