[Bug 411741] New: kpowersave doesn't detect first disconnection of AC power , subsequent ones are detected
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=411741 Summary: kpowersave doesn't detect first disconnection of AC power, subsequent ones are detected Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: ftabba@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other First of all, I'm not sure if the problem is with kpowersave or just powersave. I've recently installed Opensuse 11.0/KDE3.5.9 on my laptop (hp pavilion ze4900) and all packages are up to date - it had Kubuntu Gutsy installed on it previously, so it's no stranger to linux or kde :) The problem is for every booting instance, kpowersave (0.7.3) does not detect the disconnection of power the first time it happens; yet things work fine on subsequent attempts (until I reboot again). What I mean is, I turn on my laptop which is connected to the charger, I disconnect it from the charger, and kpowersave still thinks it's connected to AC. I reconnect it, then disconnect it for a second time, and that's when kpowersave realizes that it's disconnected and switches to battery mode. From this point on it seems to work correctly for connections/disconnections. It also works correctly if I turn the laptop on without being connected to the charger to begin with (i.e. kpowersave start in battery mode). Thanks! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So in other words, acpi always gets the correct state, but for some reason either powersave or kpowersave don't. I also verified that I get "on-line" when the cable is really connected. Cheers -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
