I'm not sure if I understood you. Is this the right way to reload snd_hda_intel with modprobe? Dmesg is showing the situation after boot. I did it again with modprobe. So the symptom is indeed similar as Martti's case. Could you try the kernel in OBS home:tiwai:bsc1202492? http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/bsc1202492/standard/ This won't fix issues but give more debug prints at probing. Please upload the dmesg output after boot. Then try to bind forcibly, e.g. run the following as root: echo 0000:0a:00.6 > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/snd_hda_intel/bind and upload the dmesg output again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It's expected that the bind still doesn't work with this debug kernel. It shows just more messages. If your bug is the same issue as bug 1202492 (very likely), this could be worked around by booting with amd_iommu=off option. When trying to configure the sound device on Yast Sound, it reports an error as follows: "An error ocurred during the installation of Family 17h (Models 10h-1fh) HD Audio Controller; It was not possible to load the kernel module snd-hda-intel for sound support. This may be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ."
