The RPMs are just a packaged version of the NVIDIA driver. I would at least need /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log for the RPM version and the manual installed version. I wasn't aware of this at all. I always considered this a special NVIDIA Xserver module. libwfb in X.Org has been introduced with openSUSE 11.0 (xorg-server 1.4.0.90).
