[Bug 1128484] New: Official Docker images should not have Non-OSS repository
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1128484 Bug ID: 1128484 Summary: Official Docker images should not have Non-OSS repository Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Containers Assignee: containers-bugowner@suse.de Reporter: michal.vyskocil@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0 Build Identifier: Hi, I believe that openSUSE Docker (and lxc, cloud images, ...) images shall disable Non-OSS repository by default. The bug is for Tumbleweed, but the same should apply for openSUSE Leap as well. First - including non-oss package affects an ability to share resulting images. Users must enable non-oss explicitly, if they want to. Second - most of interesting packages are in OSS repo, so this is hardly a big deal for most users. Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

First - including non-oss package affects an ability to share resulting images.
This isn't true - the non-oss repository only ships packages which are redistributable. If you install any packages with additional restrictions, you'll get a license prompt.
Second - most of interesting packages are in OSS repo, so this is hardly a big deal for most users.
Well, that's not a reason to disable the non-oss repo. Closing as WONTFIX. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
