Did you update using zypper dup? Does the problem persist? If yes, please install the libcurl debuginfo package, and recreate the backtrace. If you use "up" in the gdb prompt, it will also show the function parameters, when available. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Did you update using zypper dup?
I always do.
Does the problem persist?
No. This happened only two times, when my internet connection was unstable.
If yes, please install the libcurl debuginfo package, and recreate the backtrace. If you use "up" in the gdb prompt, it will also show the function parameters, when available.
Unfortunately my coredumps were removed from journal. If this happens again, I'll get more info. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Can you correlate this to the update of NM to 1.12.2?
Well, there was also a recent libcurl4 update. Both could be the culprit, although I find libcurl4 highly unlikely (very minor update, and what could go wrong in curl_easy_init())? Likely candidate is NM commit d8a31794c8b9 "connectivity: rework async connectivity check requests". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Done. Waiting for results. There is a second issue though (maybe it should be as a separate bug): After NM restart, it's no longer being able to obtain passwords from wallet. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

And the crashes can be continuously happening in a short intervals. I am using a reverted NM to trying to make the workstation usable, the network appeared better in the past 24 hours, while I may need to observe for more days to conclude anything useful: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:yfjiang:branches:GNOME:Factory/... The last one also occurs in a libcurl callback related to connectivity checking, but accesses a block freed elsewhere. That kind-of confirms my suspicion from comment 8 - the new asynchronous connectivity checking code seems to be susceptible to race conditions, in particular if nm_connectivity_check_cancel() is called. After disabling conn check as described in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=797136#c1 the core-dumps of networkmanager don't happen anymore or me. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Disabling conn check keeps the core dumps from happening. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Version 1.14.2 which include the fix is available in GNOME:Factory right now, but not yet[1] in openSUSE:Factory(available for users to update). In the meantime, you can use the method mentioned in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=797136#c1 as a "workaround". Or you can use NM 1.14.2 in GNOME:Factory. Anyway the new version should be available soon. *[1] https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/644486 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
