[Bug 1130269] New: Application:Geo/qgis: Bug
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1130269 Bug ID: 1130269 Summary: Application:Geo/qgis: Bug Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software Assignee: dassau@gbd-consult.de Reporter: licehunter@gmail.com QA Contact: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com CC: tzotsos@gmail.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- QGis 3.6.0 package qgis-3.6.0-lp150.2.1 crashes on start-up. This appears to be due to libproj15 (proj-6.0.0-lp150.33.2) being present on the system due to it being required by libgeotiff2 (geotiff-1.4.3-lp150.24.2). Downgrading libgeotiff2 to the version from Leap 15.0 (as opposed to Application:Geo) and removing libproj15 forces qgis to use libproj13 (proj5-5.2.0-lp150.1.1) and stops it from crashing. I have come across this problem of incompatible libproj versions before, also on OpenSUSE. I do not know however if this is a packaging or upstream bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Only until you try to load any GeoTIFF files, then it crashes. Presumably because libgeotiff2 depends on libproj15. In summary: QGIS requires libproj13 for its core and libproj15 for its GeoTIFF support, but the core seems to be attempting to load libproj15 instead of libproj13, causing it to crash. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
