https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1228876 Bug ID: 1228876 Summary: Some Plasma 6 kirigami components aren't installed, preventing Plasma System Settings from loading many of its pages. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: ars2swim@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 876484 --> https://bugzilla.suse.com/attachment.cgi?id=876484&action=edit The "Error loading QML file" after attempting to open the Global Theme menu After a fresh install of openSUSE Tumbleweed with the latest iso (20240803), I noticed that I can't load some setings pages, such as the Global Theme page, or the Touchpad settings. Instead, I get "Error loading QML file". I'm pretty sure this is because the package kf6-kirigami isn't installed. But it definitely should be preinstalled with the KDE Plasma 6 Desktop Base pattern. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

That's usually caused by the QML cache bug.
You can try: `QML_DISABLE_DISK_CACHE=1 systemsettings` to check
I installed kf6-kirigami, uninstalled it, rebooted my computer, and now this issue doesn't happen anymore. Super duper weird. Wonder if there's a way to prevent this from happening in the first place on new installs. It isn't a huge deal when it essentially fixes itself, but it would still be a nice thing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Tried `QML_DISABLE_DISK_CACHE=1 systemsettings` and it fixed it. What's a more permanent fix, should this occur again? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
