If the bug triggers can you do a ethtool eth0 > eth0.show ethtool -d eth0 > eth0.regs ethtool -S > eth0.stat ethtool -t eth0 Then try a ethtool -r eth0 to see if it recovers. If not do a rmmod tg3 modprobe tg3 to see if a full driver initialization recovers from the issue. Digging the kernel tg3 log do not show a related bugfix. Can you please try a newer kernel or a 11.1 version on a machine which triggers the bug often, to see if this still happens. I've also tried to recover the network card both using the ethtool -r eth0 command and unloading/loading the kernel module but nothing helped. I discovered that this information was in one of the logfiles posted as well. Debugging PCIe communication bugs can get pretty complicated, so I'm attempting to get a machine in-house to work on. I'm told that BIOS updates have resolved problems similar to this one in the past. I see that you have BIOS version 2.1.6. The latest BIOS release on Dell's website is 2.1.8.
