Hi there,
It would be helpful if you could describe what is bad about this patch and what your concerns are, as that would be useful for me to make a decision about what to do here. Reading the ITS and your gitlab issue, it appears you may have a better patch than provided here, so if you are concerned about this code, it would be great if you could help us by supplying an improved version of the patch, especially with your insight into openldap.
Thanks,
As I clearly stated in this bug report, the issues with the patch are discussed in the upstream bug report: https://bugs.openldap.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8376 I suggest all further communication about this broken patch be discussed in that report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Why? This is about the state of the patch as it exists in suse. If you are unhappy with the patch here, you are welcome to issue a request to remove it from the pkg, but the issue as it exists is in your upstream tracker so you could easily finish or resolve this as the original patch author no longer seems to contribute to the project.
Ok, consider this a request that SuSE remove this patch from the builds, since it is has serious flaws, as noted in the upstream bug. I would note that this patch was submitted *BY SUSE* to upstream, so I figured *SUSE* would be interested in it being correct. My mistake. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

SUSE are not responsible for the content in OpenSUSE as that is a community project. However, as noted, Michael has a submission for this which I have reviewed and accepted. Thanks for your time, -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
