After upgrading to Tumbleweet kernel and the full X11:XOrg repo, no more snafu happened. I called it crash, since apart from the log message, the system just "reverted" to kdm login. Interestingly, I see the same behavior from an MSI Wind-U100 netbook. I will try to cure it in the same way, but that will take another few days.. While at it, do you have an idea, how to cure the abysmal 3D performance of the Radeon HD 6310? BTW: just tried to switch to Flux (GL) screensaver, and that resulted in a system freeze on logging into the system again, it just displayed "Resuming" in the top left corner. That suffered from the same problem, and indeed, the Xorg.0.log.old doesn't show anything crash related.
