Steps to reproduce: 1. Remove the the DVD drive from the notebook 2. Note that this causes the GNOME dock notification applet to show that the system has been undocked. 3. Insert a device into the now free slot (a hard drive or the original DVD drive unit) 4. Note that this causes the GNOME dock notification applet to show that the system has now been docked.
