[Bug 475480] New: static mount for CDs and DVDs doesn't work using fdi file for HAL
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475480 Summary: static mount for CDs and DVDs doesn't work using fdi file for HAL Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jdick@centene.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009012700 SUSE/3.0.6-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.6 Wiki includes instructions for defining a static mount point - /media/dvd - to be used instead of the default /media/VOLUME_NAME that changes with each disk inserted in /dev/sr0. Those instructions no longer apply or don't work in 11.1 as they did in 11.0 so it seems to be a bug. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create xml fdi file in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/ defining desired mount for /dev/sr0 2.Restart HAL daemon 3.Insert disk into drive 4.Drive mounted at /media/VOLUME_NAME instead of mountpoint defined in xml file Actual Results: Disk continues to mount at a VOLUME_NAME mountpoint in /media instead of the defined static mount Expected Results: Any and all disks inserted into /dev/sr0 should mount to a defined mount point - /media/dvd, for example - instead of mounting to their VOLUME_NAME based mountpoint Not being able to define a static mount wreaks havoc on multi-disk software installations. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
