[Bug 450824] New: Fails to boot on IBM Thinkpad X23
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=450824 Summary: Fails to boot on IBM Thinkpad X23 Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lasse.penttinen@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User openSUSE 11.1 fails to boot on IBM Thinkpad X23. Gnome LiveCD results a black screen. In safe settings mode it hangs on boot. I managed to install the XFCE using the DVD version, but it hangs to black screen on boots unless safe settings is selected. Note: I am unable to comment/update this report for the next 2-3 weeks due to travelling (I dont have the X23 with me) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It has only 384mb RAM but there is linux swap partition available. I have used 10.3 on this with success. I am not 100% sure, but I think I also evaluated 11.0 on this PC. It looks more like a failure to initialize the display, incorrect display parameters or similar. In XFCE/safemode this runs nicely.
