[Bug 1090230] New: [openSUSE_42.3_Ports, s390x] nothing provides gcc48 needed by gcc
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1090230 Bug ID: 1090230 Summary: [openSUSE_42.3_Ports, s390x] nothing provides gcc48 needed by gcc Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: OBS Request Assignee: mrueckert@suse.com Reporter: mikhail.kasimov@gmail.com QA Contact: adrian@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello! Having RPM build tests for a package on variable set of different RPM-based. [1] https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:k_mikhail/test_012 For s390x arch there is a problem of missing gcc48 for opesnSUSE_42.3_Ports (nothing provides gcc48 needed by gcc). Simultaneously building under SLE platform for s390x is successful. Can gcc48 be fixed for s390x ports for openSUSE? For openSUSE 42.3 (not Ports), unresolvable because of "nothing provides gcc, nothing provides help2man, nothing provides rpm-build".
*me is getting crazy*...
- For Leap 15 (not Ports): "nothing provides gcc, nothing provides help2man, nothing provides rpm-build, nothing provides gcc-PIE" - For Tumbleweed (not Ports): "nothing provides gcc, nothing provides help2man, nothing provides rpm-build, nothing provides gcc-PIE" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1090230 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1090230#c3 --- Comment #3 from Mikhail Kasimov <mikhail.kasimov@gmail.com> --- Simultaneously there are repos, enabled for home: projects: openSUSE_Factory_ARM openSUSE_Factory_PowerPC But no possibility to add openSUSE_Factory_zSystems repo via Repositories user's menu, which is responsible for s390x architecture. But, if we take a look, for example, on https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/563277 , we can see, that openSUSE_Factory_zSystems also can be present. Perhaps, openSUSE_Factory_zSystems is OFF for home: projects only. I'm not aware of 'internal kitchen' of OBS, I can suppose here only, but, if it is so, this seems rather logicless not to give possibility to test how your package can be built for s390x... Need some clearness here. Thanks! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

You would need to discuss that with the distribution maintainers, but I don't see why it is a problem for you and you just not build against the port projects? regarding openSUSE:Factory:zSystems, it is true that we don't offer it to mouse users, you need manually to add the repo. This is due to the very limited build power, which we have there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It is not a problem for me, if to be aware of correct address where to do this. https://lists.opensuse.org/obs-devel/ -- right? And just there I can solve my questions about "nothing provides..."?
regarding openSUSE:Factory:zSystems, it is true that we don't offer it to mouse users, you need manually to add the repo.
OK.
This is due to the very limited build power, which we have there.
Oh, thanks here for this remark, because I couldn't get why building is so slow to start for this arch on SLE-variations. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

"regarding openSUSE:Factory:zSystems, it is true that we don't offer it to mouse users, you need manually to add the repo." OK, let's take a look again: [0] https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:k_mikhail/GOST34.11-2012 Here: ================ 1) "manually added repo" --> home_k_mikhail_Leap_s390x --> "nothing provides gcc, nothing provides help2man, nothing provides rpm-build" (unresovable) 2) "system repo" --> openSUSE_Leap_42.3_Ports --> "nothing provides gcc48 needed by gcc" (unresovalbe) At the same time: ================= SLE 12 SP{0,1,2,3} s390x: succeeded SLE 12 SP{0,1,2,3}_Backports s390x: succeeded SLE 15 s390x: succeeded So, Leap, which has the same codebase to SLE, unresovable instead of SLE? ;) Hence, I'm gonna be brave "mouse user" (c) to reopen this bug-report, because I don't think this can be solved via 'opensuse-packaging' or via some more specific mail-lists instead of bugzilla directly. And the release manager won't start a new port for sure as well. if you reopen it again please assign it to you for starting the 42.3 s390x port. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
