The error is easy to produce, just use the latest kernel (kernel-default-4.11.4-1.1-x86_64.rpm) available for openSUSE Tumbleweed and send a multimedia player in play, audio does not work.
Well, it's too ambiguous to judge, unfortunately. Could you tell exactly which player application? Which output? Which sound backend (PulseAudio or direct ALSA API, whatever) is used? Did you try the basic test via aplay, speaker-test or such? Also, did you check any difference in the mixer setup? I guess you're using envy24control?
By installing only the latest openSUSE Leap 42.2 kernel defaults x86_64 works perfectly.
On which user-space? On TW, or on Leap 42.2? Can you run alsa-info.sh again on the good-working case and attach to Bugzilla? Then we can compare more precisely.
P.S. I also tried with Ubuntu 17.04 x86_64 the problems are identical.
Good to know that we're not alone. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
