http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1132940 Bug ID: 1132940 Summary: Unable to connect to the network via mobile tethering using android device Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.1 Hardware: x86-64 OS: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: avaish92@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Since my pc comes with a broadcom WiFi device, the drivers aren't preinstalled for WiFi. Hence initially I have to tether it using my android smartphone. But that too wasn't possible in the latest beta release of openSuse 15.1, and I was getting a message to configure network using Yast2. The Ethernet controller is a Realtek Device. Is the problem about the installer, or the behavior on the already installed system? The latter would be strange...
No, I had performed a fresh installation of leap 15.1 beta on the machine on which currently I am running leap 15.0 and tried to connect to the internet via usb tethering using my android phone(as in my case broadcom WiFi drivers aren't available preinstalled), but couldn't connect. Also, there was no connection symbol shown on the top bar even after turning the tethering option on from my phone. While opening the network settings, a message displayed showed that the network wasn't configured. However, I wasn't able to configure it using Yast2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
