--- Comment #8 from Ancor Gonzalez Sosa ---
It actually helped. Here is the problem (from your logs):
Keyboard.ycp:1108 Setting X11 keyboard to: <german-ch>
Keyboard.ycp:1109 Setting X11 keyboard:
/usr/bin/setxkbmap -variant de_nodeadkeys -layout ch -option
altwin:swap_lalt_lwin,lv3:alt_switch -model macintosh
ShellCommand.cc(shellcommand):78 Error loading new keyboard description
I'm still not sure why that command failed, but it has to do with changes
introduced in some version of X.Org that were not reflected in YaST. We are
currently discussing how to keep always in sync the keyboard options from X11,
systemd and YaST. I don't expect any solution in the short term, but it will be
fixed (in a more robust way that just having the same information everywhere)
for the next release.
What I can do in the short term is adding a warning pop-up if setxkbmap fails
as you suggested. This fix will only go into Factory/Tumbleweed though.
