Hrm, then maybe the error message isn't directly related. But it's still strange that the driver shows that.
Could you try to rebuild initrd? Just run mkinitrd and reboot.
Tried that, still behaves the same. Maybe this? https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/4/10/51 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It's an option for dracut, not for mkinitrd. But it doesn't look working as written in the man page...
In anyway, for dracut, maybe -I would be easier: dracut -I /lib/firmware/i915/glk_dmc_ver1_04.bin --force --host-only
Yep this works. Also it shutsup the warning from the dmesg. So the cause was the firmware not present in initrd. Now how to get it properly detected to get it automatically included :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Good to hear! So was the original problem (the missing output after boot) also fixed by that, too?
Nope, says no signal. Still when I turn the TV off and on it again starts to work. No errors in dmesg anymore tho :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

That's a good news: at least it's no regression in our side :)
One more try: could you check the kernel in OBS Kernel:HEAD repo? It's 4.17-rc kernel, and if this works, we have a good chance to fix via backport from that.
If this still doesn't work, we'll need to report it to upstream and let them resolve it.
Yep, broken even on the 4.17.rc7. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
