I'm still seeing this on Tumbleweed 20190307, did the fix not come through, or did it break again?
Just installed blender-2.79b-11.2 from Tumbleweed and it works fine with python3 3.8x Confirm your blender version. This bug happened with python3 3.7x. There's the latest 2.7 git snapshot in home:plater if you want to try it but you will loose your language package. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Still on 20190307 (the latest). I have installed: blender-2.79b-292.3.x86_64 blender-cycles-devel-2.79b-292.3.noarch blender-lang-2.79b-11.2.noarch python3-3.7.2-2.2.x86_64 Where are you getting Python3 3.8x from? It doesn't seem to be installed in Tumbleweed by default, nor available in general for TW. If I install the blender-git version then it works. Is this all expected? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Just installed blender-2.79b-11.2 from Tumbleweed
I don't see this in TW. Perhaps that's the problem. I see 2.79b-292.3, why do I see I different version? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Still on 20190307 (the latest). I have installed:
blender-2.79b-292.3.x86_64 blender-cycles-devel-2.79b-292.3.noarch The above packages don't come from the standard repo, If you use zypper you are going to have to use zypper in -f --from <whatever the name of your main repo is> to get back in sync because zypper defaults to --no-allow-vendor-change. If you use yast2 select the correct version via the version tab.
blender-lang-2.79b-11.2.noarch This has the correct version.
python3-3.7.2-2.2.x86_64
Where are you getting Python3 3.8x from? It doesn't seem to be installed in Tumbleweed by default, nor available in general for TW. If I install the blender-git version then it works. Is this all expected? I thought I saw python3-3.8 in my last update but I was mistaken. The patch for python 3.7 is incorporated in git and also in blender-2.79b-11.2

Wow, sabotaged by Packman. I should have caught that. All sorted now. Thanks Dave!
I've deleted all the Packman blender binaries and I'll delete the package as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

zypper dup to snapshot 20190205 makes no difference. See: https://blenderartists.org/t/new-blender-install-gui-is-empty-no-icons- controls-etc/1145751 It also went away with a system reinstall. @Jogchum what graphics do you have.
Hi Dave, I have to offer you my sincere apologies - noticed your question just right now. The answer is of no use anymore I think, but for politeness sake I ll give it anyhow - it's a MSI Geforce GTX 1050TI, -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
