http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1087734 Bug ID: 1087734 Summary: NetworkManager-vpnc cannot be installed due to missing vpnc Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: fkrueger@mailbox.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Leap 15.0 Build 187.1 does not provide vpnc, which is required by NetworkManager-vpnc. Are you using vpnc? It's said to be replaced by openconnect, does that work?
Replacing vpnc by openconnect (and the corresponding NM packages) works for me, because I switched from IPSec to SSL VPN (the server setup allows both protocols). However, it is unclear to me what happens to those users who have to rely on IPSec VPN. There is an ongoing discussion in the openSUSE factory mailing list. See, e.g., https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2018-04/msg00164.html. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

so we should keep vpnc but mark it as deprecated in the release notes I guess
(NM)-libreswan might be an alternative (see https://libreswan.org/). It is, however, not available in the openSUSE repos. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
