[Bug 1083434] New: Missing accessibility to Network Configuration screen in the Installer
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1083434 Bug ID: 1083434 Summary: Missing accessibility to Network Configuration screen in the Installer Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: jeriveramoya@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 762242 --> http://bugzilla.suse.com/attachment.cgi?id=762242&action=edit openSUSE42.1-2_Network_Settings Unless the user is not connected to the Network, Network Configuration screen is not accessible, there is not button to access it as it currently implemented for SLE products. Besides the difficulties to automate testing with this hidden screen, most important is that for the user this functionality should be available. We checked previous version in case it was dropped only for Tumbleweed but we found the same result for openSUSE 13.2 or openSUSE Leap 42.1 (screenshots attached when there is not network connection). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So you are saying that current Tumbleweed behaves the same as openSUSE 13.2 and if it is a regression then it is way older? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It is different workflow in opensuse, so if the network proposal is in the overview instead of being reachable through a button at the beginning of the installation, I guess is ok.
It was added to the proposal in order to be able to modify network configuration in openSUSE, as the dialog was only shown if the network was not properly configured with DHCP. In SLES the network configuration button is "available" only in some steps that could need special configuration (registration and some add-ons step). Then, it seems it is enough for having it in the installation overview. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
