Sounds like a graphics ddriver issue. Unfortunately we can't track any fglrx driver bugs filed against openSUSE in Novell's bugzilla. Please complain directly to ATI. Thanks. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Now when I disconnect external monitor I don't even receive a notification to restore resolution (Display Settings does not pop up). So I open it manually - but there is nothing to change: 1280x800 already set. But desktop is till 1920x1080. And this time taskbar is not seen (it is outside the visible area). IMHO it's even worse then it was before uninstalling So I don't think this issue is related to ATI driver -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Unfortunately we do not have the ressources to address that issue still for openSUSE 11.4. Could you please test again with a current Milestone of openSUSE 12.1, whether the issue still exists and give me feedback about the result? Thanks.
Hello, I made three tests: a) without "nomodeset" - default boot hangs and display show corrupted picture (see attachment) b) with "nomodeset" 1. when connecting extrenal screen there is still no notification (new monitor connected) 2. when I launch Display settings manually - I receive notification "New monitor" (too late buddy) 3. I set 1080p resolution 4. then I disconnect the external monitor 5. again - no notification, destop size remains the same 1080p 6. I launch display settings - and now notification pops up "monitor disconnected" (again, too late) 7. in the Display settings window I see there already set native laptop resolution 1280x800 - but desktop is still 1920x1080 8. I press OK. Nothing happens 9. I connect monitor back, launch Display settings and manually disable external dsiplay 10. only now desktop size becomes 1280x800 c) using ATI driver all is as using openSUSE 11.4, no changes found ---- Summary, comparing to 11.4 The issue is still reproducible using ATI driver The issue became even worse using builtin driver and "nomodeset" The system becomes not bootable when not using "nomodeset" - this is new issue in 12.1 mil5 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
