[Bug 1191433] New: Login to forums.opensuse.org not possible
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1191433 Bug ID: 1191433 Summary: Login to forums.opensuse.org not possible Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Wiki Assignee: suse-beta@cboltz.de Reporter: steiner-reg@bio.ifi.lmu.de QA Contact: adrian.schroeter@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hi, I can't login into https://forums.opensuse.org/ although I did the migration a while ago. It does work fine for bugzilla.opensuse.org (as you can see :-)) and for SCC, but not for the forums. Maybe I missed some migration step. Anyway, I resetted my password which worked fine, but still doesn't let me login. Created a new account with different username and password, but it's the same: no error message (so username+pw are correct), but the "Login" still shows and I have no permissions to post etc. Tried FF and Chromium, removed all cookies etc., still doesn't work... Any ideas? cu, Frank -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hi The only user we have is FrankSteiner with an email of fsteiner-board{at}bio{dot}ifi{dot}lmu{dot}def back in 2016 with 1 post.... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1191433 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1191433#c4 --- Comment #4 from Frank Steiner <steiner-reg@bio.ifi.lmu.de> --- Very strange... When I chose password reset and entered frank-steiner, the system sent me an email with a link for resetting the password for this user. Shouldn't it be the same user/pw for all the opensuse.org services like bugzilla, forum, wiki etc.? And when I tried to register and chose frank-steiner as username it said the name would already exist. And in contrast to other combinations the login doesn't throw the "username/passwort combination is invalid", so it recognizes the user and pw as correct. Very confusing... It sounds like the username/pw exists in idp-portal.suse.com but is not registered for using the forums. Is that possible? I also tried to recover the pw for user FrankSteiner as it is one of my emails, but it says there was no contact information for this user and so the pw could not be recovered... And I registered a new user from the "register" link on the forums page, frank-steiner2. It's the same: I enter the username and pw at the login link and am sent back to the forums page without error, but I'm not logged in. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hi Drop the dash "-" from your username.... the Forum has issue with that and noted in the welcome screen (when not logged in). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Little bit unlucky, though, if there is a central id service for sharing logins between opensuse services when those have different restrictions for usernames. Anyway, I oversaw the hint on the welcome page, so it is my fault! Thanks for your help and explanation! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
