[Bug 1104121] New: No graphic session with kernel 4.12.14-lp150.12.10
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1104121 Bug ID: 1104121 Summary: No graphic session with kernel 4.12.14-lp150.12.10 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: nwr10cst-oslnx@yahoo.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build Identifier: This is based on running Leap 15.0 in a KVM virtual machine after updates applied today. Booting with the previous kernel 4.12.14-lp150.12.7 is fine. But with the newer kernel, I never get a login screen. I have attempted this with both GDM and SDDM as display manager. In both cases, I do not get a login screen. I am able to login remotely with 'ssh' to a root shell (publickey authentication). I have collected a small amount of information with GDM as the display manager (file "typescript") and with SDDM as the display manager (file "typescript.0"). I will attach those files. I am unable to shutdown the machine from the ssh command line. The attempt to shutdown just hangs. I had to force off via the viewer from virt-manager. Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The kernel in Kernel:openSUSE-15.0:Submit does not work for me too. I'm using nvidia proprietary drivers, should I open a new bug?
Yes, please. This must be a totally different bug. The issues that have been handled in this bug report are about drm atomic regression, and that should have been fixed by the update. But this is irrelevant with binary Nvidia stuff. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
