Hm, this seems depending on the hardware. I couldn't reproduce it on any machines here...
I have no parport_pc hardware around.. but the machine itself has a controller apparently... Could you give just the output of "dmesg" after boot until the kernel trace appears? No, the system was rebooted
Also, do you know how did you trigger this? Yes, I was removing vmware-workstation using command: vmware-installer --uninstall-product vmware-workstation

Are you still able to reproduce this with 3.16.0?
I updated my 13.1 system to use the 3.16.0 kernel on a VM with a parallel port and could not reproduce it.
Hi Jeff; I am AFK from this particular system at the moment and no remote access to it ATM. will report back when possible if still reproducible. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The culprit was the order of destructions of parport_pc and ppdev devices. The fix patch is below.
Yeah, I came to the same conclusion in parallel and have a similar patch. (You can take a description at least, if you want.) Built kernel is here: http://labs.suse.cz/jslaby/bug-856659/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
