[Bug 271713] New: cannot install xinelib
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=271713 Summary: cannot install xinelib Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 3plus Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ihudak@usoftinc.com QAContact: qa@suse.de There no more providers of libfusion-0.9, libdirect-0.9 and libdirectfb-0.9. The packages available for OpenSuSE 10.3 have the newer versions of these libraries (1.0). libxine packages are still of version 1.1.6-0 that requests the listed above libraries of version 0.9. Workaround that works for me: create symbol links for the libraries: libfusion.so -> libfusion.so-0.9.so libfusion.so -> libfusion.so-0.9.so.25 libdirect.so -> libdirect.so-0.9.so libdirect.so -> libdirect.so-0.9.so.25 libdirectfb.so -> libdirectfb.so-0.9.so libdirectfb.so -> libdirectfb.so-0.9.so.25 Then install libxine packages ignoring the warnings about no provires for these libraries. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

So I don't know exactly what's going on here, also I find ../x86_64 <1010> rpm -qp xine-lib.rpm xine-lib-1.1.6-11 So where did you get this xine-lib-1.1.6-0 from? On OS10.3a3 there's still xine-lib-1.1.4. Packman? Wrong address for bug reports then. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Sorry for the mistake in the bug name. You are right, this is from packman. libfusion, libdirect, libdirectfb are provided by DirectFB package. This package is a part of OpenSuSE. In OpenSuSE 10.3 it provides libfusion 1.0; libdirect 1.0 and libdirectfb 1.0. Hope to have the updated version of libxine* on packman soon. Now I think this bug can be closed here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=271713 ------- Comment #3 from mhopf@novell.com 2007-05-07 08:05 MST ------- Right. I don't package libxine on packman, so I can't help here. Sorry. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
