When starting the webcam support in kopete the webcam is recognized as spca561 (I am using a Logitech Quickcam). Kopete shows a picture with white and black random lines. When I test the webcam in Skype the Skype crashes without any additional information. When I start luvcview, I get these messages: luvcview 0.2.4 SDL information: Video driver: x11 A window manager is available Device information: Device path: /dev/video0 Stream settings: ERROR: Requested frame format MJPG is not available and no fallback format was found. I now found the setting v4l2 in Ekiga under Edit -> Settings -> Video -> Units That gave some kind of video image in Ekiga.
