Otherwise we would have used 16bit color depth for neomagic driver and not 24 as you did. Reassigning to our neomagic expert. Egbert, in case you don't have such hardware this is a wontfix. Having said that - sax2 didn't setup the server properly for this display / card combination - leading to a sort of melting-LCD effect, that well - led me to revert to a custom xorg.conf.
