This is even worse. If I try to boot that version it just stays to show the BIOS splash screen with blinking HDD LED. Don't know if this is related to the same bug however. Another idea: Would it make sense trying to track down the Build that broke the font handling by bisecting it ? I can't ask you to type all data, so I'll try to explain what to look out for: (1) When it starts it prints start & end of two memory areas. Please post those four numbers. (2) On the next screen there should be 16 memory blocks listed. #7 should be very small & free and #8 should have a significantly higher start address (it's the beginning of another memory area). #15 (the last one) should be a large free block. Is that true so far? (3) Then, when you are at the menu, press 3 times Shift-F10 (sets debug level 3), then Shift-F9. This triggers the memory dump again. Please scroll to the end (on my machine #1871 is the last entry). Is the last entry a reasonably large free block? (Note that the last entry will not be at the bottom of the list but somewhere in the middle, followed by a blank line.) Booted system and got back to same menu screen without text. F1 produced a small pop up (upper left corner, error like comment above. Then I pressed enter, saw test boot menu. selected install LiveCD, system was copied in (No Text showing just empty boxes) and came up at Welcome screen (Where text appeared), answered license Agreement and system moved on through Partition screen where I aborted the install. Text appeared from the Welcome screen on and was OK on each additional screen. I ran checkmedia before install. MD5sum was Ok. Did get a message about missing some bridge and then building one. No actual halt or error number. Could it be a timing problem?
