[Bug 623355] New: Power management does not recognize ac adapter state (sony vaio)
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=623355 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=623355#c0 Summary: Power management does not recognize ac adapter state (sony vaio) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: opensourcecat@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100626 SUSE/3.6.6-1.5 Firefox/3.6.6 On my sony vaio vpcs11e7e the system does not recognize when the power adapter changes it's state. For example, if i start up the system with the power adapter inserted the state of cat /sys/devices/LNXSYSTM\:00/LNXSYBUS\:00/ACPI0003\:00/power_supply/AC/online will always be "1". no matter if i unplug the adapter. this cause the kde 4.4.4 battery applet to not update the state causing problem to the whole power management subsystem. The status is updated if i suspend/restore the pc. This is really strange because cat /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/AC/state gives on-line or off-line accordingly and it is updated in real-time. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.power on the pc 2.plug/unplug the ac adapter 3.the kde battery applet does not change it's state -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
