I knew some things were going to crash, but, well, my complete session was killed :-) I think "/etc/init.d/dbus restart" should just print a message like "Do not use this: applications will crash and your session might get killed. So we can have force-restart if we want. "The restart, try-restart, reload and force-reload actions may be atomic; that is if a service is known not to be operational after a restart or reload, the script may return an error without any further action." Hmmm .. are you aware that this may break maintenence scripts and maybe our rpm macros? It is expected that `restart' simply restarts service.
If you restart dbus from a maintenance script or a rpm macro, you kill the desktop of the user. Which might have the side effect of killing the maintenance script of the rpm installation... So, I don't see how good this is.
